Embarking on a new collection of Paintings
Well Friday's the day, the day I get to share 15 new paintings with you guys! Honestly each time I type those words it feels surreal and a bit nerve wracking (like I mentioned in this post).
Even though I get a bit nervous sharing these new creations with you, I wouldn't have it any other way. These past few month's I've been learning a lot about myself as an artist and I've been gaining confidence to share and be more vulnerable in the work I create.
I've definitely doubted the reason why I create...
Why I create and share my artwork with you guys. I've wondered what the purpose and meaning behind the content I put out into the world. There is so much hurt and suffering out there, so what does my tiny bit of artwork have to say? But the one thing I keep coming back to is that I "get" to create. That despite hard days, loss, suffering and any other battle we each feel like we can be facing,
There is still opportunities for joy, laughter, friendship and love.
My original intention when I set out to create a new collection of paintings was to just be free with my movement and creation, but somewhere along the the way I discovered it was so much more.
My hope with this new collection of paintings is that they each spark a sense of joy and excitement for this new season. Whatever that looks like for you I hope that these paintings remind you of laughter, friendships and all the good things you have to look forward to!
Because sometimes we just need to laugh in the face of adversity, sometimes we choose what's hard because it's better and sometimes we just need to be reminded that we aren't alone. I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though I may wonder why I choose to paint and share these creations with you all, I'm slowly realizing that the biggest gift that I receive is to share this journey with you guys! You guys have impacted me in such incredible ways. Somehow along the way I got lucky enough to hear your stories and your journeys, being able to hear your stories has changed me in ways I know I continue to discover in the years to come.
