the "Home" series

I shared these new paintings with my 4yr old niece. I asked her if she likes these “houses.” She immediately corrected me by saying “auntie, those aren’t houses, they’re Homes.”

I asked her what the difference was and she said “houses are empty & homes have people living in them.”

Honestly I couldn’t have said it better & really I think that’s why these little homes feel so important to me to paint right now.

Life is always changing even the houses we live in will change, but the people we fill them with are the important part. The memories, the growth, the laughter.
