I was driving down the road a few days back and it was like I finally woke up from that summer daze and realized that all the leaves were falling to the ground. Why does summer have to end so fast, I feel like if finally got into a groove of oversized t-shirts and cut off shorts.
Im still adjusting to the weather again up in Bellingham, after almost 10 years living in Montana my body (and hair!!) didn't know what to do with all the humidity and mild temperatures. I also realized that my wardrobe was split in two. It was either preparing me for negative temperatures or it blasting heats. Now that were entering into a mild 50 degrees I needed to adjust my wardrobe too.
For me layering has always been key, I have also converted to a more simplified wardrobe with a few unique staples to keep things interesting. When I start thinking of fall clothes I think of ankle boots and some transitional tops. This could be a great vest, jacket or sweater. The best part about these types of tops is that you can wear them with shorts on those transitional nights or layer up with a vest, sweater and jeans for the cooler summer nights.
And honestly, can you believe how beautiful these leaves are! All the gold, red and green mixed in make me come to grips that September is rapidly closing and October will be here in no time. Oh and if you forgot, all art orders through September come with a free gift inside :)
