Simple Holiday Decorating tips in 1, 2, 3
Christmas is almost here, you are getting ready for company and you're staring at your house wondering were to start. Don't fret, decorating for the holidays doesn't have to be overwhelming. I've come up with a few simple holiday decorating tips that will make your guests think you were slaving to make your place look festive just for them.
So if you are like me... (a procrastinator, who also likes that little extra touch of for party), don't worry.
All you need is 3 things.
Some Greenery
A little Sparkle
Something Red if you are feeling traditionally festive.
I know this sounds too easy, but really it's that easy. When you want to start decorating for a party or the changing of a new season. Think of ways you can add subtle details that make a big impact without having to completely overhaul your entire house.
For me this year, I stuck to the 3 rules I listed above.
We didn't have a mantle so I made our open shelves our makeshift mantle, but you could use a book shelf or table as your main focus area. Once you decide which area you want to focus on begin adding the 3 things I mentioned above.
A little greenery: I went outside and cut a few down from some overgrown trees, but Trader Joes or any Hardware store carries them. A little sparkle: Garland or a candle or even an silver tray can add something for the light to jump off and make your space interesting. Lastly, something Red, but for me I'll leave this one optional. This year I added a little touch from some old books & dried berries.
I hope these tips leave you decorating like a champ before your next holiday get together!
