Life Lately: Learning Balance
When things get a little quiet over here you can bet that things are getting busy in the studio! I have been feeling like this blog has become neglected and sprinkled with dust. It was once my soul source of creative output, but now I am so happy to say that things are continuing to change and evolve, so I guess it's fair to say that this little space will also show signs of that change.
My main creative energy has definitely been pouring into new artwork like my recent Plant Series and the Taking on the Sun Collection and I couldn't be prouder. I have a few new secret projects that I have briefly spoke about over on instagram and I can't wait to share them with you!
But, for the past few months I have been wrestling with how to juggle it all, the creating side, the editing side, the business side... the life and family side. There are so many sides to what you see here. I have loved almost every aspect of each job title I wear. However, recently I have realized that I can't do it all if I want to do it all well.
I needed Balance
So, where have I found some of that balance... well I'm looking at you. I am so incredibly grateful to be able to have formed so many amazing relationships and man am I loving you guys more and more each day!
A bit of that "balance" will show up here on the blog, I am so excited to share this space with some amazing contributors!!! I have a new exciting series of posts that explore "Creative Workspaces" we will be peaking inside of the spaces of some amazing artist and makers (come back Wednesday for the first edition! ekk)
I have also found some balance in my personal life by simply checking out of this online world. No social media, no emails, no phone for one solid day! I know, crazy... but have you tried it? Honestly this may be the healthiest practice you can have now days, that and exercise but I don't want to push myself too far ;)
Do you have any little things you do in your day to day that helps create balance in your life? If you do I would love to hear!
