Fall Favorites
A few Fall favorites: homemade gifts, changing leaves & cozy outfits
This time of year I'm usually casually enjoying the changing of the seasons and naively unaware of how fast the holidays sneak up. I try to enjoy the moments, but somehow the second Thanksgiving comes and goes I feel a sense of panic. What should I do for Gifts? Now its too late to make anything... the list continues.
This year I decided I would try by best to do it all. I would embrace the little moments that fill the holidays with excitement, while being wildly proactive (for me). I would plan ahead, simplify what could be simplified and allow myself time to really enjoy family and friends.
One of my favorite things about fall, like most is when the weather finally cools off and the leaves start to change. I am still adjusting to being back in Washington and how much rain fills this season. However, Marcus and I decided it wasn't going to get us down, so we have put on our rain coats and taken walks to enjoy the golden leaves and fresh air. These walks also help keep me sane since I seem to spend 90% of my time in the house working (any tips for working at home are welcome!)
Planning ahead for Christmas
Something I have also struggled with is being a planner, I can be a dreamer, but seeing the idea through is something I have failed at in the past. And what do they say about failures.... learn from them. This year I decided that I would challenge myself to set goals, real goals. Goals that kinda scared me because I wasn't sure if I could accomplish them or not. The best part was that as October is ending today I looked back on my October goals and I met ALL of those goals except for one!! What?!
I guess all those goal setters are on to something
Needless to say I feel like a proud momma when I get to share my new 2017 Calendar (you can order it here) and new greeting cards. It makes me happy to see people get excited and start planning ahead for Christmas gifts too.
Do you have any tips for successfully getting through the holiday season? If you do I would love to hear all the advice you have! Feel free to message me or leave a comment below.
