A WALK IN THE GARDEN ( a new series of original paintings )

A collection of paintings exploring being grounded in contentment. No matter the season, no matter the trials life may throw our way, contentment and joy can be found.

These paintings are my physical representation of what contentment looks like. Nature does such a beautiful job of showing us what it looks like to be content and just be. All it does is simply respond to it’s environment that it is growing in. It can’t do anything else just be what it was created to be.

For me that is a very peaceful and freeing reminder live fully alive.

I hope these new paintings bring with them a sense of peace and an energy to respond with contentment and joy for the life we all get to live.

Before I event started working on these paintings I pulled out my notebook and wrote down these words

“The picture: the wind slightly blowing, a crispness in the air. You can hear birds chirping from the meadow near by and a soft crunch beneath each footstep as you pass between the slightly untamed rows of flowers & beds of greens. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
These sources of life for our mind & soul. A place to look across & see the work and growth. A place to kneel down and see the intricacies that otherwise go unnoticed. ⠀⠀
A retreat.⠀⠀
A quiet place.⠀⠀
A walk through the garden.”

Each painting is created on beautiful wooden panels, the grain of the wood is a beautiful nod to nature and as it peaks through the paint it was a quiet way for me to remember not to overwork what is already naturally beautiful. The movement of each painting is a light and loose, just like the way the wind pushes and pulls the flowers and plants in the garden. All they can do is bend and flow to the response of something greater.
