HOMEMADE "BAKED" FRENCH FRIES

This weekend I was craving french fries and a good hot dog. So I decided to make some home made "baked" french fries. They couldn't be to hard was my thought and they weren't! They were really good and easy to make. I was a little afraid because if you look up how to make them, a lot of recipes say that you need a special machine to cut the potatoes perfectly even so that they will cook evenly. But hey, I knew I could cut them evenly... or at least pretty even. So I went ahead and chopped up some potatoes.

I made sure to scrub my potatoes well because I like french fries with the skin on. And because I think they are prettier (if french fries can be pretty and I think they can). After I cut all my potatoes into fry sized pieces I tossed them in a bowl of olive oil, salt and pepper and if your feeling adventurous a little cayenne pepper. After they were nicely coated I laid them evenly on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 350 F. They need to cook for about 20 - 30 mins depending on how thick you make your slices. Also, about halfway through you should take them out and mix them around a little to make sure they are cooking evenly (or at least my paranoid self likes to do this) you don't have to if you trust your oven... I dont.
Once they have cooked for 20 -30 mins take out your crispy delicious french fries and pair it with your favorite dipping sauce. Mine was some homemade ketchup and dijon mustard (my personal favorite dipping goodness)
These were so good, so quick, and so easy to make that they will definitely be something I make again.
