DIY: VALENTINES DAY STAMP

Have you ever made a stamp out of a potato??

I did it as a child a few times and I think that it is such a fun and easy way to make a one-of-a-kind stamp. I love this project because sometimes I have an idea pop into my head and I want to have a quick and easy way to recreate that idea. Whether its for a birthday gift/holiday/or just a way to personalize something this diy potato stamp is something worth knowing how to do.

What you need is a potato/ knife/ paint or ink. Begin by cutting your potato in 1/2.

Step 1: draw on your design, I find a simple design is always easier when you first start. Step 2: gently draw your knife around the outside of your potato, roughly 1/2" down from were you cut. Step 3: cut around your design, taking small pieces at a time. 4. cut away any rough edges until your perfect your design. I went with a grouping of hearts since Valentines day is coming up and all :)

Next dab your potato on a napkin or something to get rid of some moisture. Then paint on your color and begin stamping away.
