RAMBLINGS | VOL 38
I started reading this book called The Artisan Soul by Erwin Raphael McManus. It is about how all of us are born with an innate creative nature but sometimes along the way we loose that ability to create. When most people think of being a "creative" person it looks like being a painter or musician or someone with a certain "artistic" flare. But have you ever met a doctor or dentist that is passionate about their job? Does their passion overflow into every aspect of your experience, have you had a teacher that brings life to a stagnate subject? These are incredibly creative people living out their passion and creating a new perspective with what they love to do.
I have met so many people that would define themselves as being "unartistic" they think they couldn't paint a picture to save their lives. But I have tasted their art, their food is their medium and they create everyday. We need to spark our creativity, give it a little jumpstart so to speak, I know when I start fueling my creative nature something shifts inside of me. I become a little more daring, I start to dream bigger, to think outside the box and hope for what seems impossible.
McManus says "Fear is the shadow of creativity. When we choose to create we bring light to our fears...the creative act is inherently and act of courage." I love this! When we start creating again we give ourselves the freedom to be unafraid and color outside those lines.
I hope that you are unafraid, that you look deep inside yourselves and ask what is your creative nature, what do you love to do. Then do it passionately and without fear.
