HART + STONE GIVEAWAY

I am so excited to share with you Hart +Stone! I have been such a fan of Emily's work for sometime now and I cant believe that one of you will get the chance to win $75 towards your very own hand crafted jewelry piece. I fell in love with my Cream Geode Necklace the moment it arrived. It is the perfect mix of elegance, delicate craftsmanship and personality. Everything is excellent quality and you can see the creativity in all of Emily's designs. I know that you will fall in love with her work just like I did.

Take a moment and get to know the person behind all of this creativity... Emily!

Q: You recently changed your store name, what is your new name and the meaning behind it?

A: I decided to change my name from EMILY HART to HART + STONE because I originally started EMILY HART as a clothing company. I recently made the decision to focus on my jewelry, as oppose to both jewelry and clothing and felt I needed a name change. HART + STONE stuck because it still has a piece of where I'm from, my middle name is Hartwell, and I use a lot of stones in my creations and design concepts.

Q: What Inspired you to create?

A: I'm inspired by nature and the forest that surrounds my little home. I live on a small island off the west coast of Canada, and find a lot of my summer days are spend on the ocean. I'm also incredibly inspired by quartz crystals. My father is a gem-carver so I grew up surrounded by semi-precious stones and crystals. They are what inspired me to create my first fashion design collection, and to this day inspire me every day in my jewelry designs. I'm lucky because they have become so trendy, even though I have been using them for years.

Q: Do you have a favorite piece that you've made, if so why?

A: I love my new tibetan quartz crystal claw ring. I'm still experimenting with the construction of my jewelry, I'm mostly self taught, and this was a huge step for me. I love the fact that I didn't have to drill into the stone, and that it's all natural.
