EXERCISE CAN BE FUN... RIGHT?

Well when you live somewhere like this I will have to say yes exercise can be fun...
but I will choose to exercise and take pictures along the way so my grumbling will be a minimum.

This past weekend Marcus and I decided we needed to get off our slightly flat student butts and start working out again. The weather was great so we put on some running shoes and hit the trail. It seems like every college town in Montana has a giant "M" on the side of the mountain, it makes for a great hike and the view of the valley is incredible. So this was our hike of choice...
This trail has 3 options:
1- straight up a crumbling trail (but it's the shortest)
2- switch backs and shady trees (the medium)
3- the long way (but the easiest)

Can you guess which one we decided to do on our "lets get fit" motivation
Yep, the hardest way... and I'm just saying it wasn't my idea. But never less up, up, up we went and my whining began immediately and yet surprisingly not 30 seconds later I didn't have enough are to complain anymore.
But to save my bad attitude I busted out the camera and decided to focus on the view and the beautiful array of color that were popping up all over the mountain.
And yes, taking lots of breaks is a must when your body is telling you that you are doing
the one thing that may just end your life right that instant.
But we made it to the top and enjoyed the amazing view of the place where we live.
It was fun to reflect and realize how much we have come to love this place and the fact
that we dont know where we may be in the next few years but we will cherish every moment we have while were here.
Oh and we intended on taking the long way backdown...
buuuuuut  I somehow led us down a wrong turn and we ended up sliding half way down on the loose dirt. So our long way turned up a little shorter and a tad more adventurous than expected.
I will say I never claimed to be good at directions.
