a kitchen weekend

This weekend was filled with lots of baking and cooking.
I was so excited to try some recipes that have
caught my eye.

I was given some pears and I wasn't quite sure what to do with them all
so I decided to make some Pear Butter!
It was so easy and delicious
Recipe here
(I doubled the batch to make two pints worth)

Oh I forgot to say that I did 1/2 white 1/2 brown sugar t
o add a carmel taste as well as cinnamon and nutmeg for a little spice

I also borrowed a dehydrator (Thanks Patricia!)
I dried pears, apples, peaches, and some strawberries
They are amazing and now I have to get a dehydrator.

Amazing salsa made from Green (unripened) and red tomatoes

I did edit some of the ingredients to my liking
(less cumin and no canned tomatoes)

Sunday dinner consisted of the classic sautéed green beans (butter, garlic, and almonds)
paired with Garlic mashed potatoes and BBQ chicken. We also made our own BBQ sauce and it was so unique and tasty. The perfect combination of sweet and spicy.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!
Happy Cooking and Happy Fall
(can you tell that I've caught the Fall bug)
