Studio Updates & I'm Announcing A Little Secret

The irony of having a blog is that sometimes I forget to tell you things. Things that are important and close to my heart, which is the reason I keep this little place. I want you to know how much I value you and all your support through the changes in my life. It is crazy to think that I started blogging 6 years ago, I have changed into a different person, which is so terrifying at times to think how much the future will change from what I think it will be. 

When I went through my "rebranding" and started kendracastillo.com I honestly made the change like I do with most things in my life. I trusted my gut and after months of nudging from my friendly gut, I took the plunge and made what I felt like was a big change. Little did I know what it would prompt in my life. 

Now months later I have felt like I needed to make a big statement because of this change, I have been feeling a different kind of nudging in my good 'ol gut. 

What is my gut saying? It is reminding me to listen to it. To be wise and true to myself. 

Somewhere along the way I felt like I lost myself creatively, I have wrestled with a thousand emotions and I have discovered something. I am who I am. 

This may see silly, but it is true. 

You are who You are and I am who I am. We all need to be true to our creative process and our impact on the world around us. I have gotten caught up in my insecurity some days and I have fallen into the trap of comparison. What has that done... it has stunted my creativity and growth. 

So I'm saying today. I will continue this journey with transparency. I'm a work in progress. My art will tell that story. 

Now on to my Updates & News... 

I have made little mentions on Snapchat (@k_OpenSpaces) Facebook & Instagram, that I will be releasing a new art collection. Now the news is officially out! Mid August I will be releasing a collection that speaks to my roots, the pacific northwest. The textures and colors in these pieces tell a story of adventure, love and growth.
