SUMMER TABLE DECOR

As a designer I have a constant need to be switching my decor around. I love to find any excuse to move decor around, but when the seasons change it feels like just moving a few things around just wont do. While we are staying with my in-laws it is a little harder to get out some of that extra creative energy (like moving my decor around on a weekly basis) but my sweet mother-in-law loves to give me free reign to switch some things around, so when she asked me for my advice for a new dining table centerpiece I was all on board.

Table Runner: Kohls |  Bottles: Recycled | Flowers: Hobby Lobby

She had a small budget that she wanted to play with so we decided to do a little up-cycling, which happens to be something that I absolutely love to do. Maybe it's all that time as a student pinching pennies while still wanting to have a place that felt like home.

For this centerpiece we collected old glass bottles, removed the labels and clean up any left over stickiness. Then we headed over to Hobby Lobby and found these beautiful faux flowers on clearance for only $1.60 a piece! With a little trimming of the stems to make them a more appropriate height we placed them in the recycled bottles and had a fun & fresh new table centerpiece!

What do you think of our new centerpiece? Have you tried up-cycling old bottles before, if so for what purpose? I'd love to hear your answers :)
