House Tour: Mysa Home Styling's Master Bedroom

Hi there! My name is Heather and Kendra and I met through the lovely world of Instagram. I love the connections you can make through social media, and this one is no exception! Kendra and I are swapping posts for our blogs, sharing our bedrooms. So make sure and see Kendra's bedroom on my blog.

My husband and I are currently renting a quirky home in a neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN. And when I say quirky, I mean it. Our bedroom is one of the rooms in our home that I feel like we haven't been able to do as much to, since we're renting and it has some definite built-in "character." So I wanted to show it to you so you could see how to make a place your own even when you don't get to choose the floral wallpaper and lack of real doors. ;)

I'm all about improvising. I love the idea of a bench at the end of the bed, but they can be so expensive! So I took an old $6 thrift store coffee table and body pillow and wah-lah! Instant end-of-bed bench!

You enter our bedroom through this large archway. We hung a curtain to serve as a "door" to provide more privacy and darkness at night.

We got this old dresser from some family as a hand-me-down when we got married and chose to paint it white. We decided to just go with one coat of primer to keep a stroke-y vintage look. I love how it turned out! And I've recently discovered the wonders of hanging dried eucalyptus. Not only is it beautiful, but it smells heavenly!

My dresser holds favorite jewelry, essential oils, perfumes, and some lovey-dovey prints. It's the perfect little spot for getting ready in the morning. My husband's dresser and closet are in an adjacent room (I told you, quirky!).

These framed playing cards are from my husband's proposal. The words on each card share one aspect that my husband loves about me and spell out "Will you marry me?" I love decorating with meaningful pieces like this. Having special memories in sight is a great reminder of those happy times!

And last but not least here's a peak into the Mysa Home Styling office that we walk through on our way to the bedroom. This is all in the 2nd level of our home. I love all the natural light that the office gets—perfect for photo shoots! :)

Thanks so much for taking a peak into our bedroom. I hope you're encouraged that you can make a space beautiful, even if the wallpaper isn't what you'd choose or the layout is a bit quirky.
