RAMBLINGS | A FULL & GRATEFUL HEART

It has been a long road and quite a few restless nights to get to what is now kendracastillo.com. When I started blogging back in 2009 it was foreign concept to me. My sister encouraged me to start writing and share life with my friends and family. I had moved away from home for the second time after becoming a newlywed and she thought I might like the fun creative outlet that blogging gives.... High Five Danielle you saw something in me that I certainly never did. So with her encouragement I took a leap and started Open Spaces blog.

Over the years there have been a thousand changes in what I write about, I have learned about photography, found a creative voice & an amazing community of people. When I started this journey I never could have foreseen what life would look like, but here I am forever grateful to those who have followed my journey. You have seen my ups and down, you may have wondered where I went for a while, but I'm back and I am so excited for what is next.

One of the biggest things I have learned from blogging is that I have to force myself to be ok with the "process." As a perfectionist I want to overthink all of the details, plan the perfect layout or try to figure out how every little detail with affect the future. Needless to say that can leave oneself in a frozen state, where no decisions are made at all. When I went on my blogging hiatus I wrestled with many of these thoughts, but one thing trumped them all. I didn't want to feel frustrated or creatively stuck anymore.

So I took a leap and I am so glad I did.

I have been overwhelmed by all the amazing feedback and support. I have loved creating new art pieces for clients I call friends and challenging myself to explore new sides of my creativity. I am in a "yes" saying mood so if you're interested in working with me, come and say Hi!

I can't wait to start sharing some of the projects I have been working on and get to continue to share this crazy journey with you all. Thanks again, I am forever grateful!!
