DENVER MUSEUM
We headed out to explore the
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
. We even had good intentions of hitting up the Zoo but unfortunately we ran out of energy and will have to save that trip for another time. I have never been to the Denver Museum and I was so excited to spend the day with family exploring all that the 3 + stories held.
As you entered you have options of exploring so many different sections of the museum, but we headed straight for the Prehistoric Journey Exhibit.
Travel through time-starting 3.5 billion years ago, we began our journey beneath ancient seas. I was so amazing looking at underwater fossils from places we have travel over so many times.
After hitting up the underwater section we moved into the dinosaur exhibit. Who doesn't love dinosaurs!!! I'm pretty sure Marcus and I reverted back to being children and joined some of the summer tour groups in our excitement over all the amazing things that this exhibit held. I held back a few selfies with prehistoric bones for my own dignity and the on looking eyes of little explorers :)
After becoming one with the dino's we headed to the Expedition Health Exhibit. I totally forgot to take pictures while we were there because Marcus and I had way too much fun seeing how fast we could run, how long our arm span was and seeing our blood flow through our very own arms. At this exhibit you get a card to scan as you travel through different booths. It records your data and helps you better understand your very own body.
After getting a little serious (or not too serious) we headed to the Mythic Creatures Exhibit. This was fun to dive a little deeper into all those fairy tales that we all love. Plus if you are traveling with small companions this exhibit is perfect, there is a station for arts and crafts, focused on all the things that you have seen. Plus if you have the patients to wait in line you get to take your very own picture with some of your favorite mythological creatures.
We finished our adventure at the museum at the Space Odyssey Exhibit. It was so amazing to see real pieces of the moon, see the cosmos and take a journey through time.
The one thing I was bummed we missed was the Power Of Poison Exhibit, only the preview was open for members the day we went but if you go now you have to let me know how great the exhibit is. I'm "dying" to know ;)
If you live near Denver or are just passing through, I highly recommend making the stop and checking out the museum. There is so much to do for all ages of enjoyment plus they have amazing Imax showings (we checked out the Humpback Wales 3D during our visit) Everything we experienced didn't disappoint!
