THE STRUGGLE TO PUT "REAL" CLOTHES ON IS REAL

"Hi, I’m Kendra. Most days you can find me trying to convince myself to put "real" clothes on. I love binging on terrible reality tv (my husband says he is embarrassed by me a lot of the time because I can't carry a tune and don't really care). I am mostly known as a goofy creative soul. I try not to take life too seriously, but I love the deep intimate moments in life."

I wrote that on instagram last week and later in the day I was laughing to Marcus about how I got a lot  people commenting about how they hate to put on "real" clothes too,

His response...

"what are "real" clothes??"

My response...

"Oh honey, you know like "real" adult clothes. Like non-spandex clothing... like I'm not dressing like I'm going to the gym even though I have no intention of working out"

That was about the point he had a sort of glazed over look, like there was no way that he was going to be relating to this life struggle of mine.

So this is my shout out for all the people who struggle like I struggle to get out of bed and put a pair of structured pants on. Raise your hand and let me know I am not completely alone in this daily battle.

Kendra Castillo: The struggle to put "real" clothes on is a real.

I know the problem increased when I started to work from home more and more and the need to put on something other than workout pants decreased. So I am trying to be a bit more intentional about getting dressed in the morning (or late afternoon, lets be honest). I'll have to admit that I tend to be more productive when I get up, put a little make-up on and get ready. However, I realize its all about balance, so today I put on "real casual" clothes and I'm going sans make-up and unbrushed hair. Remember, it's all about balance :)
